Guy Took Finasteride, Quit Successfully, Stressful Situation Causes Symptoms 5 Years Later

I know there are a lot of things that can cause Finasteride like symptoms, but this guy took Fin, quit, and was fine for 5 years. Then stress triggered persistent sexual side effects very similar to what we have.

Personally, I am convinced that Finasteride has caused some kind of inability to properly cope with intense stress. So, brain storming, if we assume that this man’s symptoms are from Finasteride, how could intense stress have such an effect?

i know cortisol is involved with stress, adrenaline is another one (think neurotransmitters)

About 5 years ago I had auto immune hepatitis which they think was derived from taking finasteride, however that was resolved back then and I am on no medication for it for 5 years. My DHT levels have not been checked, however, maybe they will be relevant. I have never had erection problems until the last year.

I am beating constantly it is auto immune. To me this guy’s auto immune progressed slowly until it was strong enough to get cause sexual sides.

I went to two immunologists, both don’t think my symptoms are related to auto-immune. You can go on a prednisone taper or budenoside taper and see if that helps. Have you tried this?

I have talked already to my doctor but decided not to use any as these have their own set of sides, espcially bone loss from prednisone. I am having already sever bone+muscle loss.
Don’t believe your immunologis until you rule out after blood tests. many of us have rashes and streaks in their body parts. Some have grey streak in their balls which is one symptom of auto immune.

Problem is most of the auto immune are known like Hashimoto’s Hypothyroidism, Sjogren’s Syndrome, Multiple Sclerosis etc but what we are having is not studied.
Further ESR and ANA tests of no use. Oscar have given here a woman’s auto immune disorder case.( anti bodies against testosterone) her ANA and ESR were normal.

This doesn’t surprise me. I believe that many men that have taken finasteride at any point are likely to experience problems like ours at some point in their lifetime.

I quit finasteride several times and recovered just fine before i crashed. My crash came when i was under intense stress and my lifestyle was the worst it had ever been. I think there are studies to show that finasteride pretty much destroys your adrenal glands and therefore response to stress.

the only way you never get sides from fin is you stop using it well before seeing any sides. I am saying this because my next door neighbor used fin for 3 -4 months and stopped in 2002 because of finencial reasons. So far no sides. He is healthy family man. One interesting thing he was diagnosed hypo thyroid before going on fin and was on thyroide meds already when started fin. He still takes thyroid meds. Had I not known this I would have blamed hypothyroidism on his fin taking.
