Full hormonal profile before and after TRT. 8+ years with propecia; 3y off

Nice of them to take our health into consideration. :unamused:

Iā€™m sorry that youā€™ve tried so much - but I honestly doubt tamoxifen will do a thing after all those hormones

Interesting how Crisler, Jacobs and now your doctor have all stated something similar.

I also doubt it, based on the experiences of other members, not on my previous treatment. I will try, anyway. I got my testosterone levels raised as expected when I was on TRT. I guess tamoxifen will raise them too, as that is what itā€™s supposed to do. I remain skeptical about it correcting my sexual malfunction, though. If thatā€™s the case, it will be good anyway to have a doctor attesting it, so thereā€™s more awareness about our condition.

Yes, that may point to other mechanisms playing in our condition. Strange that I seemingly responded to testosterone (heavy acne in the back, lean weight gain) but sexual function and fatigue remained, though.

Perhaps T/DHT can no longer act correctly in those areas where 5AR2/AR activity was inhibited by Finasteride. Skin is 5AR1, genital tissue is 5AR2 (inhibited by Fin).

Perhapsā€¦ will mention that to the doctor at the due time.

Your testosterone levels are much better than mine but my DHT levels are almost 3 times yours(62).

You should get your cortisol levels checked and also a ACTH test.

Seems pretty reasonable. Iā€™m having dry skin patches and sexual sides since off Fin. Any guess why alot of us were ā€œokā€ while ON the Fin but shrunk down to nothing after? What was the Fin maintaining for us that screwed us up so bad when we went off it?

ps- sorry if someone already covered this.

My testosterone levels are only fine when Iā€™m under TRT. I donā€™t recall having being tested for DHT, even if I asked the doctor for it.

My last doctor, an endo, believes my cortisol levels are completely fine.

uh, no dht test? thats what this drug effected - dht levels, by cutting off the 5ar2 enzyme. you need to get to a new endo. are you in the USA?

No DHT; once I mentioned it to an antiaging doctor and he said it was irrelevant, as he could see that with Adiol 3G measures.

Donā€™t know whether my current endo has tested it or not, as I donā€™t have my test results.

Iā€™m in the U.K.

like postfinsufferer and to.robin you had the opportunity to try growth hormone in low dose by hertoghe correct?

did you try it and find it helped with libido and erection quality?

thanks mate

In the beginning it seemed to me that it helped a bit with morning erections, but after some time such effect disappeared, and when I increased the dose it didnā€™t come back neither. Maybe I was just sleeping better (due to HGH or not); when I do, I often get better morning erections. I am not taking the thing anymore.

Another doctor I visited puts in doubt that HGH is good for erections; he mentioned that it lowers donā€™t-remember-which hormone, which in turn leads to higher levels of another susbtance, prolactine or SHBG, donā€™t remember well, potentially hampering erections / libido.

i would really like to know what you mean about the GH changing other sex hormones i ve not heard of it yet

at your next doc visit could you ask? would be helpful!

too bad for you the effect wasnā€™t so goodā€¦ im praying this will be my cure

I meant that HG lowers maybe insuline and that, according to what I understood and remember, it so leads to an imbalance that, if any, could have a slightly negative influence on erections / libido. Probably he meant that there is no relation whatsoever between HG and sexual function.

I canā€™t ask him again about this matter as I will have a limited time for questions that I would like to use for other issues.

Good luck with your treatment; please let us know whether it works for you!

So had my 3rd follow-up consultation yesterday.

After 2 months and a half with tamoxifen, my testosteron has increased threefold to 19 (range 7.6 - 31.4); donā€™t remember the units.

Morning erections are a better, but thereā€™s no improvement in fatigue, libido, ED. Started to be severely depressed some weeks ago, so began taking bupropion, which helped with concentration, and later reboxetine. After the first couple of days with reboxetine couldnā€™t even get it up with manipulation. ED is one of the side effects of reboxetine. I couldnā€™t afford to be so severely depressed, though, so I am currently on reboxetine + buproprion + novaldex.

My doctor commented that the increase in testosterone levels meant the connection between the pituitary and the testis was not impaired. Now Iā€™ll slowly stop taking tamoxifen and re-test again in 1 month to see whether my body is still producing testosterone.

For ED he has given me cialis that I have to take every day (5mg).
He said that taking reboxetine and buproprion was a bad idea for ED issues as it murks things and interferes with his treatment. We might try to get me off the antidepressants and have carbegoline later to give a push to dopamine.

Weā€™ll consider other possible issues if with appropriate testosterone levels + cialis + absence of other interfering drugs I canā€™t get normal erections and am still fatigued.

Hi mate iā€™m a Spaniard too who is screwed by this drug. Regarding what you asked about a spanish doctor to help you out, i was trying to get a good consultation in Seville and no doctor is aware of this post-fin issue.

Iā€™ve got also pretty down levels of fsh and lh, although my testo is acceptable. On the other hand, my prolactine has been high for a while so my doctor said i might need to take some cabergoline too to bring it down. However, i have some other hormonal values out of range so i havent taken it yet as i will be having an appointment with a suppously semi-expert endo on this issue. I will let you know if i am told something that can help you.

Regarding cialis let me tell you that my bod has gone though some resistence to this drug when i took it quite frecuently so i would not recomend you to take it daily (at least at that high dose). I read from other guy he had that problem too so watch it out. Take into consideration that there are some studies concerning this matter and patients took 1 mlg of cialis daily for ED. Anyway, this a personal issue and it is not a cure for our problem.

I took l-arginine powder too and did well for fatigue problem as u said but still quite problematic ed and some brain fog.

Let me know if you are doing better and if any of drug is helping you with ed and low lybidoā€¦

Cheers

Just got the results of my previous tests sent:

Ok mate but tell us how u feelā€¦

It seems your hormone panel has improved which suppously should lead your body to better sensations at all levels.

Btw, did you start with 5ml of cialis per day as you told us?
