Even the combined talents of Voltaire, Lenny Bruce and Kurt Vonnegut could not make this one up:
Merck is so confident that its animal-feed supplement Zilmax is (all together now) safe and effective for its intended use that it wants 240,000 heads of cattle to ingest the risky concoction as part of the largest-ever study of its kind.
But, as Reuters reports, “There is a problem: giant meat processors like Cargill Inc don’t want to touch animals fed with the drug.”
Feedlot owners, meanwhile, “are reluctant to participate in the study until they get a guarantee that slaughterhouses will be willing to buy the Zilmax-fed animals.”

The moral is: Be glad you’re human.
Lest Merck offer to feed you MORE Propecia to prove that its product is in fact (one mo’ time) safe and effective for its intended us.
