DHT not activating facial ageing

One thing is very clear my DHT levels are not activating. Has anyone elses face substantially aged? Before I took finasteride my face was way too oily now it’s completely dry even slapping on moisturiser instantly dries up it’s like dropping water into sand- the moisture just evaporates there isn’t any oil there whatsoever and no amount of cream helps. I have photos last year of me in Turkey and honest to God I never had a wrinkle on my face now it has aged a good 5 years in a matter of 8 months. Has anyone seen the oil come back on their face? I’d say this is a great sign things are returning normal.

I’ve aged terribly was always complemented on looking a lot younger than my years prior to PFS. Aged 10 years in the last 2. Skin is super dry and collagen has depreciated dramatically. No sign of any improvements I’m afraid

I don’t think I’ll see any improvements in the looks department either, finasteride has depleted my body of sebum and is destroying the collagen in my face. I honestly can’t even look in the mirror anymore without freaking out but I wonder has anyone seen their oil levels get better as this would be a clear indicator DHT is working again. My face used to be SO oily and I used to have that MPB itch now I don’t have either so I know for a fact the DHT isn’t activating.

Same for me mate one or two have produced oil again! I used to have women chasing me now it’s people with sticks !!! Joking aside it has switched back for some, generally with other improvements.

Yes, the removal of sebum happens with Accutane, too. It is written that Accutane reduces skin androgen receptor levels:

These data clearly showed that skin androgen receptor was sensitive to oral isotretinoin administration in acneic patients. The decrease in skin androgen receptor levels (this study) and the recently reported suppression of skin 5 alpha-dihydrotestosterone production by isotretinoin treatment appeared consistent with the involvement of androgen receptor and 5 alpha-dihydrotestosterone in the pathogenesis of acne. Indeed, sebum production is under androgen control, and an abnormal response of the pilosebaceous unit to androgens appears to be implicated in the pathogenesis of acne. These observations were consistent with the absence of sebum in complete androgen-insensitive patients and normal sebum production in male pseudohermaphrodites.

Putting it into simple terms - if I understand this correctly - the DHT is going round the body but fewer androgen receptors are there to pick it up.

The study even notes that lack of sebum is the same in androgen-insensitive patients and male pseudohermaphrodites.

Interesting read Pete thanks. I think a solution to this madness is to create new androgen receptors and really not sure if that’s possible.

I’ve age a bit in the face as well used to look 18 now I look closer to 35

I dont want to complicate matters more, but my face is super oily, and i still have PFS…Interesting enough my eyes are dry, and my hair is not falling anymore…Can anybody make any sense out of this sh**?

Everyone is different and each have an array of symptoms.
I need to get these under control
Sleep
Gut
Neuroinflammation
Adrenal fatigue
Low cortisol
