There’s been alot of talk about crashes on this website, but I’m not sure everyone understands it the same way. I was curious about was what your definition of a crash, and it would also be interesting if you could share your crash experiences.
Here’s my own definition: A crash is an extended period of time (several weeks or months) where PFS symptoms are significantly worse than in “normal” times.
As for my crash experiences (aside from the ongoing everday symptoms, of course), I recall only two … The fist one occured immediately after usage, and lasted for at least 6-8 weeks. Very severe, and included ED, no libido, brain fog, depression, etc.
The second one occured approximately 17 months after usage. It’s been about 6 weeks now, and still no sign of recovery. I have extremely low libido, severe ED, but surprisingly, nocturnal erections and morning wood are ok. I don’t know if it could be as simple as this, but this occured when I stopped taking Centrum vitamins (with Zinc). It’s actually the only thing that changed, but it might be a pure coincidence. Since then, I decided not to take anything yet, and let time do it’s thing. In the short / medium term, I may go back to vitamins and see if they help.
Here are some questions that may be interesting to hear you on for crashes:
- What caused it, according to you?
- What were the symptoms?
- How long did it last?
- Following the crash, were your symptoms better than pre-crash?
- If you had several crashes, do they last approximately the same length? Do they occur the same time of year?
- What was the longest elapsed time between stopping Finasteride usage and a crash?
- What got you out of the crash?
