Cholesterol

How exactly does Cholesterol play into this whole thing? I haven’t seen it discussed recently but look at this just from a quick wikipedia search…

Hmm… all things that we have issues with. The reason this is important, is because Cholesterol is the genesis item from which all these other things derive themselves or plays a part in deriving them.

I don’t recall seeing it mentioned in Awor’s theory, but it could be probable that androgen receptor action may trigger the metabolism/biological processing of cholesterol into the end resulting products. But if the AR doesn’t turn out to be the source of the problem, perhaps cholesterols role in the whole mess needs to be examed.

Joke right?

Sure you need Cholesterol for hormone production. Sadly don’t think that’s the case.

Yup. Actually everything I say here is a joke. I’m really comedian who uses this website for satire and standup routine material for my gigs.

Low Cholesterol

Cholesterol, a substance required for the normal function of cells, is present in every cell of the human body. It is also found in the bloodstream. The soft waxy substance is produced in the body and is essential for the production of vitamin D, bile salts and hormones.

Sources
The body creates most of the cholesterol found in the cells and blood, although some comes from food. According to the American Heart Association, about 75 percent of cholesterol is created in the body.

The Liver
The liver is responsible for producing the cholesterol in the body. Alone, this organ can synthesize enough cholesterol to keep the cells healthy and hormones at the appropriate levels.

Cell Membranes
The membranes of the cells need to allow needed elements such as oxygen and nutrients to enter. This semi-permeable state also allows unwanted materials to be eliminated. Cholesterol is critical for cell membranes to function efficiently.

Vitamin D
Vitamin D is created in the body when sunlight hits the skin. If cholesterol is not present in the body, this will not occur.

Bile Salts
Bile salts, which are created from cholesterol, play an important part in the absorption of fat in the digestive tract.
Is this why i felt better on sodium bicarbonate?

Hormone Synthesis
Cholesterol must be present in the body in order for the body to create hormones such as progesterone, estrogen, testosterone and cortisol.

Is our liver fcuked? i notcied one improvement is my ALT went from extrememly high to low, not sure if its related… But hey this is a cool discussion regarding low vitamin d etc.

Hypolipidemia is a condition that is characterized by very low cholesterol levels. Although having low cholesterol levels is considered healthy in terms of cardiovascular disease, some studies suggest that very low cholesterol levels could negatively affect your health.
There are two main classifications of hypolipidemia - primary and secondary hypolipidemia. Primary hypolipidemia is usually due to an inherited condition, whereas secondary hypolipidemia is mostly due to some type of medical condition. The following medical conditions have been associated with causing very low cholesterol levels:

Hyperthyroidism
Liver disease
Malnutrition
Cancer
Chronic infections or inflammation

By treating these conditions, you may be able to correct low cholesterol levels. Cholesterol-lowering medications can also cause secondary hypolipidemia. Discontinuing these medications, after discussing this with your healthcare provider, would increase very low cholesterol levels.

its very…true! you can only produce vitamin d if you have enough colesterol and fat in the body…however. if that would be a problem to us…then the body is not using the cholesterol we have the right way…

Yeah i think you are right, because some people have ok cholesterol. The liver i think could be playing a huge part, for me i’m suffering from extremely low test. My testicles are still producing sperm so it can’t be that right?

80% Of cholesterol is made in the liver 20% come from food.

Numerous conditions can cause extremely low cholesterol levels. According to Dr. Dicken Weatherby, a naturopathic physician and author of the book “Blood Chemistry and CBC Analysis,” decreased levels of cholesterol can lead to nervous system dysfunction and poor hormone synthesis, as well as increased levels of stress to the cardiovascular system. The immune system can also be affected by decreased cholesterol levels. Lifestyle factors and certain medical conditions are the most common cause of extremely low cholesterol.

Megaloblastic Anemia
Megaloblastic anemia, also known as pernicious anemia, may cause extremely low cholesterol levels. According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, or UMMC, megaloblastic anemia is a rare disorder in which a person’s body does not absorb sufficient amounts of vitamin B-12 from the digestive tract, leading to a decreased red blood cell count. The UMMC states megaloblastic anemia is more common in people with northern European ancestry. Common signs and symptoms associated with megaloblastic anemia include low cholesterol levels, weak muscles, numbness and tingling in the extremities, difficulty walking, nausea, loss of appetite, weight loss, irritability, fatigue, diarrhea, smooth tongue and tachycardia, or increased heart rate. According to the UMMC, the treatment for megaloblastic anemia depends on a person’s age, overall health, medical history and expectations for symptom reduction.

Hyperthyroidism
Hyperthyroidism may cause extremely low cholesterol levels. The MedlinePlus website states hyperthyroidism is a condition in which a person’s thyroid gland – a large gland located on the front of the neck – generates excessive amounts of thyroid hormone. This condition is sometimes referred to as thyroid hyper-function or overactive thyroid. Possible causes of hyperthyroidism include increased consumption of iodine, Graves’ disease, inflammation of the thyroid due to viral infections, noncancerous growths on the thyroid gland, taking large amounts of thyroid hormone and tumors of the testes or ovaries. Common signs and symptoms associated with hyperthyroidism include low cholesterol levels, concentration problems, fatigue, goiter, heat intolerance, increased appetite and excessive sweating. Dr. Weatherby states low cholesterol levels seen in people with hyperthyroidism may be due to the excessive utilization of fatty acids by a metabolism that is excessively fast.

Malnutrition
Malnutrition can cause extremely low cholesterol levels and is particularly evident among the elderly, alcoholics and certain individuals in developing nations. According to MayoClinic.com, malnutrition can be caused by numerous factors, including health problems, low income, decreased social contact, depression, alcoholism and restricted diets. Common signs and symptoms associated with malnutrition include low cholesterol levels, fatigue, dizziness, weight loss, irritability, decreased immune function, swollen and bleeding gums, poor growth, bloated stomach, muscle weakness, osteoporosis and decreased reaction time. Dr. Weatherby states low cholesterol is a pattern commonly seen in vegetarians and people suffering from malnutrition, whose dietary intake of healthy fats might be low. The cholesterol levels of a person suffering from malnutrition will usually improve following the introduction of essential fatty acids into his diet.
