I know were not, i couldn’t care less about my hair - im just saying. Believe me i was very happy to see this when another member showed me. I have actually been taking pharmaceutical grade fish oil and probiotics for some time now and dexamethasone is next on my treatment plan. So to suddenly see a Biologist that has held posts at Harvard amongst other places advocating the use of all three of those is great.
I have a joint issues, so I took dexa injections for that in 2001. or 2002. while still on propecia. I noticed great improvement, but it last only couple of days. But I am off propecia for couple of yrs. Maybe it worth to try I again now.
I wonder where benefits of DM come from? Being as anti-inflammatory or being as immunosuppreassant?
To me look like bieing AF since some members report improvements after using NSAIDs.
I think its antiinflamatory, because corticosteroids have very strong antiinflamatoric effect. But corticosteroids are also a hormons. So all comments on this subject are welcome.
Low Dose Naltrexone
A side effect of high dose Naltrexone (e.g. 50 mg/d) is hair loss. Low dose Naltrexone (e.g. 1 mg/day, taken at night) appears to stimulate hair production and it may reverse the effects of Finasteride, since LDN improves libido.
This guy looks like he’d be great to have on our research team with his all his bio background and the fact that he has theorized a PFS treatment. Not to mention he’s in San Deigo so maybe he could work somehow with Goldstein’s PFS guys if something looked promising.
Any ever have any contact with him? Someone should at least email him about the conference no? Maybe he’d be interested in contributing.
I agree it’s good he’s taken interest, but Naltrexone has bee tried by a few members without real benefit. Plus he’s singling in on the sexual side effects only.
I don’t think the fact he’s been to Harvard or whatever matters much as there, as we all know there have been other highly educated medics like Jacobs who can’t grasp this. He also seems to approach things from a slightly quacky anti-aging angle.
Plus it’s even dafter if he’s talking about reversing side while on the drug, anyone with half a brain stops when the sides become intolerable rather than start taking even more pharmaceuticals to offset them.
