Baylor study, part 1 - Penile vascular abnormalities in young men with persistent side effects after finasteride use for the treatment of androgenic alopecia. 2020

I’m sorry to ask you again because I’m not good at English.

So what’s the conclusion? That’s what we’ve been waiting for, but it’s not related to the epigenome.

The scenario that I always thought about was, based on Baylor’s research, what genes were wrong. After that, I thought I was looking for a way to utilize the gene editing technology, but I think it’s a long way to go than I thought.

After reading what Awor said, I don’t think all the research has come out yet. Can we have hope?

The part that we need in order to move on and progress hasn’t been released yet

Just pretend they haven’t released anything for what it’s worth

So ist this the horryble truth of the Baylor one study - Only Victims with intact penile tissues an vascular trophic have the Chance of Sexuall Recovery with anykind of Hormon Therapy?! - Seventeen 5ARI subjects (68%) had a vascular abnormality on PDDU. So only the 8 subjects without vascular abnormalitirs an intact receptor Response have any Chance of full Recovery of hard erections with Proviron or any other Hormon Therapy…isn’t that the truth? F…ck, I’m so afraid that all the classes of damages make ED permanent…

Whatever Baylor has said about penile vascular abnormalities or whats been shown on ultrasounds,we need to know and remember these vascular abnormalities are absolutely systemic. Some may notice the penis first because of its highly sensitive microvascular structure.

I believe no abnormal blood flow has been observed in the brain after imaging those of sufferers, aside from reduced flow to areas related to sexual pleasure I think. But this could just be a function of reduced activation rather than anything vascular.

I think sophisticated tests and even the right blood markers could find evidence of this.
I have tested positive for markers of antiphospholipid syndrome at times which is also known as “sticky blood syndrome” or coagulation abnormalities.
There is alot that still hasnt been explored as a group.

The influence of isotretinoin on brain metabolism has been directly investigated using PET FDG, a technique that maps regional differences in glucose uptake in the brain. Twenty-eight subjects with acne were imaged before and after four months treatment with 13- cis RA or antibiotics (13 with 13- cis RA, 15 with antibiotics). Patients were also assessed for depression using the Hamilton Depression Scale (Ham-D). This study revealed that four months of 13- cis RA treatment led a to significant reduction in brain metabolism in the orbitofrontal cortex (Fig. 3),174 a region that has been associated with depression

In the case of patients reported to the Norwegian Medicines Agency, single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) of the brain was performed in 15 cases who reported lasting neurological symptoms. Altered brain function was seen in all cases involving altered or reduced frontal lobe blood flow.173 Ten of these patients were evaluated to have organic brain damage.

Stroke
Cerebral venous thromboembolism complication of isotretinoin
use: a case report
E. Okuyucu, I.M. Melek, S. Colakoglu, O. Demetgul, M. Guntel, T.
Duman. Neurology, Mustafa Kemal Unversitiy, Antakya, Turkey
Background: We report a 27-year-old woman with any risk factor for
thromboses who presented with right hemiparesis due to left transverse
venous sinus occlusion associated with isotretinoin use for acne.
Case presentation: A healthy 27-year-old woman ,with no significant past medical history, presented with sudden onset of headache,
vomiting , right hemiparesis and unconsciousness associated with
convulsions. She had a history of taking isotretinoin for acne for the
last 2 months. A magnetic resonance scan of her brain showed the
presence of cerebral infarction of left thalamic area , magnetic
resonance venography ultimately revealed left transverse sinus
thrombosis. Treatment with anticoagulation recovered her from
headache but not from hemiparesis.
Conclusion: Isotretinoin is one of the most used treatment modality in
many patients with acne. However, isotretinoin use can be associated with
life-threating thrombotic side effects especially in young patients.
Physicians must be more alert to be aware of this side effect.

Association between isotretinoin use and central retinal vein occlusion in an adolescent with minor predisposition for thrombotic incidents: a case report

Isotretinoin use may be associated with sight- and life-threatening thrombotic adverse effects even in young patients with otherwise minimal thrombophilic risk. Physicians should be aware of such potential dangers.

I think the end summary of all these posts is - don’t take a 5-AR inhibitor.

I mean, do you want the risk of all this?

Jeez.

It is fucking insane that people can read any of this stuff and still opt to take finasteride.

Even more fucking insane that it is still on the market.

Same goes for isotretinoin and SSRI.

Yep some of these should be in prison for what theyve knowingly done, the lives lost, destroyed and suffering endured. Its more than criminal its evil. Sorry having a bad time trying to understand how this continues.

The insanity is allowing SSRI to be readily available to children. My sister succumb to being a victim of the anti-depressants. After just a couple months of taking Zoloft, her brain chemistry hasn’t been the same for a year now – she hasn’t taken any more pills for a while.

I was well aware of the risks. I knew about the PropeciaHelp forums and PFS Foundation, even taken the liberty to read posts after posts. With that said, my only concern was chance. After visiting my PA (who has prescribed Propecia numerous times) and talking to friends, I spent literally a month balancing out the pros and cons. I trusted my PA and the studies, but unfortunately, I became another victim. The issue stems from the lack of studies on the matter; if more studies show the dangers and the biological mechanisms that cause our problems, then it would make it a lot more effective to convince the public.
