Asian PFS Victims

In light of the “independent” research a few years ago showing that over 3000 Japanese men took Propecia without incident:

I wonder if there are any Asian PFS victims? Is everyone with PFS Caucasian?

“Asian” is broadly and poorly defined. If you’re including Indians, we have a slew of them here. Met two in person; both were severely affected from a short tenure of finasteride.

True - I guess by Asian I should have indicated Japanese/Chinese/Korean - since the article I linked to was about Japanese men. I don’t know how to refer to them - but are there any victims that are 100% Japanese/Chinese/Korean?

Yes this topic was discussed. Problem is the language/script. There are even discussions in the web in japanese. About pfs! If you translate pfs in japanese and search the Web and translate the results again you will find japanese suffer stories.

The japanese study is bought.

This study a few years ago shows that ~33% of Japanese men already have zero interest in sex. So using that pool of men for this finasteride study, I would not be surprised that so few actually showed no symptoms.

Sorry to hear you have PFS. I was just trying to understand that Japanese study - it makes no sense that over 3000 men could take Propecia without getting PFS.

I now realize that Merck bought that study - they did it with Vioxx - so it shouldn’t surprise me. I just can’t even fathom how evil that company must be to actively work to PREVENT a cure for a disease THEY caused.

Thanks. Yeah, that doesn’t make sense. I think when it comes to those studies, unless it was specifically to see if there are pfs results in a group of users, it can’t tell us anything useful about pfs. I would guess that the questions aren’t really geared towards finding pfs sufferers. Add into that the probably considerable bias that the experimenters had, and it isn’t surprising that there were no results concerning pfs.

i am southeast asian.

my sides that did not resolve are the ff: been 2yrs

  • girth loss / wrinkled penis skin
  • soft penis like rubberband
  • reduced libido/ mild ED
  • tinnitus
  • cant gain weight

I spoke to a Thai guy and a guy from philippines with PFS.

I am East Indian and I have very severe sides from 5AR inhibitor.Like peximperia have been bleeding in penis and Anus due to very thin skin. And yes I have shrunken balls and piece of rubber which you can wrap around finger.
