Adrenaline

Mew,

I’ve tried searching but can’t find how adrenaline is tied into this whole mess. Can you point me in the right direction? Do you have any studies?

Thanks.

I have no idea.

Adrenaline is activated by the adrenergic receptors of the brain, which, along with dopamine receptors, are responsible for sexual desire, arousal, and other sexual “stuffs”. This is why drugs like Bupropion and Amantadine have been used to relieve sexual dysfunction caused by SSRI usage, as they work specifically on dopamine and adrenergic receptors.

You can find a lot about it. Try here for some basic drugs that affect these receptors and are known to increase libido.

Also, check the forums… bunch of stuff posted on drugs used to relieve sexual dysfunction that affect the adrenergic receptors.

Hope this helps…
